Welded block heat exchangers for reboiler duty
Evaluate the exchanger together with its circulation system. This is a selection guide, not a report of a completed installation.
- Existing unit and duty
- Identify the reboiler arrangement, process composition, boiling pressure, feed conditions, required vapour generation and available heating medium.
- Problem to assess
- Establish whether the limit is heat input, circulation, fouling, pressure drop or available space. Include startup, turndown and changing process composition.
- Scope and material
- Define the exchanger and any circulation or piping modifications. Confirm alloy and seal compatibility with the process and heating media.
- Verification
- Review the heat balance, phase-change behaviour, circulation driving head and system pressure losses. Specify the applicable operating limits and acceptance checks.
- Result to establish
- Agree vapour generation, outlet conditions and stable operation over the specified range. A project result requires documented commissioning and operating evidence.
